Brian and Donna have been involved in the work of Bible translation since 1989. Their first years of ministry were spent among the Tojolabal people in Chiapas, Mexico. Since 1995 Brian has worked with the United Bible Societies, giving computer support to national translators and consultants. He works primarily in North, Central and South America, but has also traveled to Europe and Asia to provide computer training. Brian, Donna and their daughter Rachel are currently spending a year traveling extensively to a number of projects to encourage and equip them in their translation work.
Christ Church of Davis is a new church start in Davis, California under the leadership of Eric and Shelly Dirksen. They have been formally meeting for a little over a year.
Rise Ministries was founded in Sheldon, IA by Rob Roozeboom. Rise on the Road is a mission experience designed for Jr. High and High School students. It is an opportunity to put their faith into action as they serve a community to bring hope and healing. Carmel youth wishing to participate in these ministry opportunities can apply for financial assistance from Carmel Church through the Outreach Fund. A fund set up to help those who wish to participate in short-term mission projects.
Joni Byker grew up in Ireton, Iowa and is working in Liberia with Samaritan’s Purse. Since 2005, the Church-based Livelihood Project (CLP) has been conducted in Liberia with over 700 women receiving business, literacy and animal training, and given the opportunity to hear the Gospel at every class. The illiteracy rate for women in Liberia is 71% and recent assessments show CLP is strongly tied to improved literacy. In addition CLP is empowering women in their marriages, family life, and livelihoods, as well as teaching them about how God desires for us to live.
Living Stone Prison Church is a ministry of the Reformed Church in America. It is their mission to lift high the name of Jesus with a consistent presence at the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield, SD. They seek to present the Gospel message to the lost of the prison population and provide discipleship to both new and veteran Christians within the razor wire of MDSP.
Words of Hope will proclaim Jesus Christ through broadcasting in the languages of the world’s peoples, seeking with our partners in ministry to build the church by winning the uncommitted to faith in Christ and by encouraging Christians in the life of discipleship.
ATLAS is a Christ-centered ministry that provides personal development services to individuals and families who are hurting for a variety of reasons. ATLAS is located in Sioux Center as well as other locations.
Brian and Beth Bruxvoort are RCA missionaries in Soldotna, Alaska, who work in partnership with the Mission Aviation Repair Center. Brian is a airplane mechanic, flight instructor/scheduler, and pilot. Beth leads a Child Evangelism Fellowship youth team in ministry to the children of Pedro Bay, Alaska.
Center of Hope is an RCA urban mission outreach in Sioux Falls, S.D. The services include after-school and vacation Bible school programs for kids and fellowship and Bible study opportunities for teens and adults. The center offers lots of practical help too.
Inspiration Hills’ mission is to provide an environment for the individual to come to know and grow in Christ and be challenged for life in God’s Kingdom. The Vision of the Board is to be a uniting presence for the churches of all denominations but especially for the RCA and CRC; collaborating efforts for kingdom work. The vision includes providing opportunities for leadership training, pastor and family care, discipleship training, spiritual retreats and other opportunities in response to local needs.
